Designing Self-Sustaining Motivation Systems

In building the Permaculture International Research Network (PIRN) we are trying to provide a platform which fosters creativity, maximises intrinsic motivation and sharing, facilitates online and offline networking and builds a community based on trust. In this workshop I would like to focus on maximising intrinsic motivation.

Opening with a brainstorming session on motivation, there will then be a short presentation on the basic principles of intrinsic motivation before participants break off into groups to put together some ideas on how participants think that they could maximise their intrinsic motivation to take part.

About

For the last few years I have been working as a volunteer for the Permaculture Association (Britain), helping to run the international permaculture research surveys and supporting the development of the Permaculture International Research Network.

I'm also an agricultural lab technician, English as a second language teacher, psychologist and anthropologist. In my free time I like to be outside and around animals.
