Tour of Smiling Tree Farm

Join us at 10am for a tour of Smiling Tree Farm: 70 acres of permanent pastures, meadows, herbal leys, integrated wildlife zones and forest gardens. Using native and rare-breed animals, together with organic, permaculture and holistic farm management practices, the farm produces 100% pasture-fed beef and lamb, as well as free-range pork, and eggs from tree-roosting chickens. There is also a micro-dairy producing raw milk, cream, butter and cheese from 100% grass-fed Jersey cows that are allowed to keep their calves and milked just once a day to give a unique and highly nutrient-rich milk. The soil is a key focus because a healthy soil food web is the foundation of productive, nutrient-rich and diverse pastures, which in turn support the health of the grazing animals and the nutrient value of the meat and milk they subsequently give. The farm has had significant planning and investment and is continually evolving but at the heart of what we do is the belief that good food can only come from animals raised in a stress-free environment and fed what they naturally evolved to eat.
