The Food Forest is a certified organic family farm and permaculture learning centre established in 1983 to test and demonstrate the permaculture design system. Today it grows 150 varieties of food and fibre and employs five people.

Creating an effective design for an enterprise is critical to its ultimate success. This presentation explains the ethics and principles by which the property was planned and is run.

Powerpoint presentation: I spent 25 years on Rainbow Valley Farm, an organic farm and permaculture education centre with my late husband Joe Polaischer. I will present a brief summary of our achievements. After Joe passed away I moved to the village and in 2011 established a new home for myself - a model of permaculture on a village scale.

For 15 years Timorese NGO Permatil, in partnership with multiple organisations, has improved communities across Timor Leste using permaculture. They are one of Timor’s most respected NGOs, providing trainings, demonstrations, project assessments and education materials to government ministries, universities, international and local NGOs and now over 1100 schools.
